New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was one of many that could only look on helplessly as Boston firefighters battled a blaze Wednesday in the city’s Back Bay neighborhood.
Tragically, two firefighters lost there lives fighting the fire.
Brady spoke with Boston radio station WEEI Thursday morning:
“My respect and sincerity and love of what they do, it’s hard to put into words. I had a first-hand view of all the action. I was blown away by the teamwork they displayed … I lived in the Back Bay for a long time. It was a scary day. We as athletes think that we’re heroes, but when you witness firsthand what I saw yesterday, you realize who the real heroes are.”
Condolences to the city and the families of fallen firefighters Lieutenant Edward J. Walsh Jr. and firefighter Michael R. Kennedy.
