Johnny Manziel went all Johnny Football at his NFL Pro Day on Thursday.
Manziel spent the day chatting up former presidents (George H.W. Bush was in attendance), working the media, coaches and scout before donning a helmet, shoulder pads and camo shorts – “Isn’t the game played with a helmet and shoulder pads on?” he asked before slinging 60-yard bomb that he accentuated with a loud vocal “BOOM.”
Just Johnny being Johnny.
Manziel, who completed 61-of-64 throws, told the NFL Network:
“I can make any throw on the field and hopefully compete with anybody. Why come out here in a scripted workout and be scared of anything. My main thing was, I am not scared of anything. I don’t play that way on the field.”
Did Manziel do enough to impress? We’ll see come draft day, but there was one team that had their collective eyes firmly trained on Johnny Football.
