After a three-decade run on late night TV, David Letterman will call it a night in 2015.
Letterman told his Late Night audience Wednesday:
“I just want to reiterate my thanks for the support from the network, all of the people who have worked here, all of the people in the theater, all the people on the staff, everybody at home, thank you very much. What this means now, is that Paul and I can be married.”
Letterman has had many memorable moments in his 30+ years – Stupid Pet Tricks, endless Top 10 lists, introducing the world to Larry “Bud” Melman, run-ins with Madonna and Cher – but our favorite Late Night moment occurred in 1995 when Drew Barrymore gave Dave an eyeful for his birthday.
No one word on a possible replacement, but keep this in mind: Jon Stewart’s contract with the Daily Show runs out in – you guessed it – 2015.
