Fantasy Junkies: The Daily Degenerate Fantasy Baseball Picks 4/4

Who said turbans and yarmulkes don’t mix? The Dirty Turban reached out to The Daily Degenerate to give him a hand with a daily fantasy column. I can’t blame him. I don’t know how he has time to write, manage the 7-11 and drive a taxi.

The D&D (as we’ll call it) will be dishing out value plays for daily fantasy sports. With the MLB season firing up and the NBA season winding down, we will do our best to win you some cold hard cash – and if we don’t win you money, the Guru will gladly refund you every dirty rupee. [Ed. Note: this is not entirely true.]

With all that out of the way, here’s The Daily Degenerate fantasy baseball picks for Friday.

Auction values based on Draftkings salaries

Danny Salazar, SP: $8800 – Home opener versus a very weak Twins team, good value for a high strikeout pitcher.

Shelby Miller, SP: $8700 – On the road at PNC park – a great pitchers park. His counterpart is Gerrit Cole – expect a low scoring game.

Brian McCann, C: $4500 – McCann at Rogers Centre vs. Dustin McGowan, an out the blue 5th starter. Give me Big Mac with extra cheese.

Justin Smoak, 1B: $3500 – Smoak mashes off Dan Straily. It’s a small sample size, but I’ll roll with the hot bat.

Anthony Rendon, 2B/3B: $3900 – This kid is going to break out this year. Playing a guy named David Hale (Braves). Didn’t he die in season 3 of Sons Of Anarchy?

Nolan Arenado, 3B: $3600 – Drove in 2 runs on Thursday and heading home to playing homer prone Randall Delgado.

Kole Calhoun, OF: $4500 – Honestly, I like any Angels in this spot. Lucas Harrell is a bum and Cannon Arm Kole should benefit off this matchup.

Carlos Gonzalez, OF: $5700 – This dude is on fire, possibly the only player who can be a better fantasy player than the Fish in Anaheim. Look for him to feast on Arizona pitching all weekend.

Alex Gordon, OF: $4500 – Love this match up for Alex playing against a rookie RHP (Erik Johnson) in his first start of the season. Alex has a lot of good tools and I’m sure he will utilize them well against a weaker opponent.

Other plays I like: Billy Butler 1B, $4200, Paul Goldschmidt 1B, $5900, Adam Eaton OF, $3900, Garrett Richards SP, $6400, and anyone on the Angels.
