The Daily Degenerate Fantasy Baseball Picks 4/23

Did you play the Dirty Turban roster last night? We apologize. They all can’t be winners. We blame this mainly on the sub-par performance from Hyun-Jin Ryu and Buster Posey. Both came up small and we finished about one hit out of the money – one measly hit. It happens. Don’t do anything drastic.

Let’s get back to the winning ways tonight. There were a number of day games across MLB today so that’ll limit our rosters tonight, but there’s still plenty of matchups to exploit. Vegas likes runs to be scored in the DET/CHI, TOR/BAL and MIN/TB. Those are teams we’ll be looking to target.

Here’s the Dirty Turban roster we’re rolling with tonight 4/23.

All values are based on DraftKings pricing.

SP 1 – Michael Wacha, $11,200: Step right up and pay the Price for Wacha. He’s facing an impotent Mets team that is second in baseball with 186 strikeouts. Bank on 10 K’s and a W.

SP 2 – Drew Smyly, $6,200: The other options are either too pricey (Zack Greinke) or too risky (Cole Hamels). Let’s hope Guy Smyly does what we think he’ll do tonight: Make the White Sox sad.

C – Devin Mesoraco, $4,400: What’s going on here? Is this Bizarro World? The Guru spending on catcher? We will tonight. Mesoraco is averaging 14.4 FPTS a game this season. We can’t ignore it any longer.

1B – Miguel Cabrera, $5,100: Miggy is back and hit his second homer of the season last night. When Cabrera heats up you get him in the lineup. Whatever the cost.

2B – Ian Kinsler, $5,600: Yup, we’re stacking Tigers tonight. Kinsler will hit leadoff tonight and put up 20 FPTS last night. The White Sox are terrible.

3B – Nick Castellanos, $3,400: Tigers, Tigers, Tigers. Have we mentioned Detroit faces a pitcher named Andre making his first start of the year with the wind blowing out?

SS – Yunel Escobar, $2,800: Gotta punt somewhere and DraftKings has caught onto our love for Scooter Gennentt.

OF 1 – Jose Bautista, $5,300: Orioles starter Chris Tillman has a 4.95 ERA at the Rogers Center. A Blue Jays stack could make a nice play as Joey Bats will go yard tonight.

OF 2 – Nick Swisher, $3,800: The Swish is the must play across all our teams today. He’s hitting over .350 with a couple homers off the Royals Jason Vargas.

OF 3 – Don Kelly, $2,200: Punt play to save some $$$, but he is hitting second for the Tigers tonight. Someone has to score all those runs.

Good luck and remember to always check daily lineups and weather conditions.
