The Daily Degenerate had the weekend off and pushed away from the table when it came to DFS play. Sometimes when you hit a cold streak like we hit last week you just need to follow the advice of Kenny Rogers and know when to hold ’em, know when to fold, ’em, know when to walk away, know when to run.
Last week, we went 5-for-15 and our bankroll dropped a bit. While it’s tempting to chase the losses it’s always a better strategy to take a break (especially if you don’t like the matchups) and see what the real world has to offer us. What is the bright orange orb in the sky?
This week we get back into the game as we look to build that bank and get one dollar closer to that winter in Cancun. There are just seven games on the Monday schedule and watch the Doppler in Chicago and St. Louis – good chance of rain. We have aces on the bump, some red hot bats that are mashing at the plate and it’s a whole new week. Let’s make some cash.
SP 1 – Michael Wacha, $10,700: With Yu Darvish a bit too pri$ey and facing a team that actually hits him pretty well, we’re going with the next two best arms on the board. Wacha is averaging 22+ FPTS this year and struck out 10 in his last start.
SP 2 – Madison Bumgarner, $9,800: The Mad Bum is one of my fave players of the day. He gets an impotent Padres offense, he’s at home, and is averaging eight $trikeouts per game in five starts.
C – John Jaso, $2,700: The A’s can hit Darvish and Jaso hits Yu at a .294 clip with a couple of homer$.
1B – Paul Goldschmidt, $4,400: Has DraftKings lost faith in Goldy? Bad idea. This price is too damn good to pa$$ up on the NL MVP who is due for a dong.
2B – Ben Zobrist, $4,300: Zoby is one of the more con$i$tent players averaging 8+ FPTS this year. Keep an eye on that Chitown weather though.
3B – Pablo Sandoval, $3,300: The price is way down on the Panda as his average has dipped below the Mendoza line. However, he’s shown some $igns of life lately averaging neary 7 FPTS over his last three games.
SS – Jhonny Peralta, $3,000: While we’d love to roster Troy Tulowitzki he’s just too pricey with the arms we’re going with tonight. Enter Jhonny who is on fire and hit two homer$ yesterday.
OF 1 – Carlos Gonzalez, $4,100: No love for Cargo today? This may be the cheape$t we get him for all year and he hits Wade Miley pretty well with a .389 average with one homer.
OF 2 – Brandon Moss, $4,200: Mo$$ has Yu’s number with four home runs in 18 at-bats.
OF 3 – A.J. Pollock, $3,000: A total punt play here tonight, but it’s not a bad idea to pick on Franklin Morales in a game Vega$ likes.
Make sure to check the lineups, give a look at the weather and throw on some Kenny Rogers tonight.
