NBA commissioner Adam Silver uttered the three words players, coaches and fans needed to hear: Banned. For. Life.
Silver dropped the hammer on LA Clippers Klansman Donald Sterling Tuesday after his racist rant went public over the weekend. Silver banned Sterling for life from any association with the Clippers organization or the NBA and levied a $2.5 million fine with the money going toward anti-discrimination organizations. Silver also intimated that NBA owners will look to remove Sterling as an owner.
It will be a wild scene at the Staples Center tonight as the Clippers host the Sacramento Kings in Game 5 of the Western Conference quarterfinals. There have been rumors that the Clippers and the Kings may have some sort of protest planned that includes refusing to play the game.
Following the announcement the Clippers website got a makeover.
