It was a rough Friday night for your humble-but-nonetheless-handsome Guru as my rosters went 1/4 on the night mostly thanks to a sub-par performance from Jose Fernandez. Even when your holding aces sometimes you go bust and end up like Wild Bill Hickcok holding a dead man’s hand. Tip of the turban if you’re a Deadwood fan.
Let’s turn it around tonight. There’s 12 games on the slate tonight with some tasty matchups and some weather to watch – rain in Atlanta may have me fading Braves and Cubs tonight.
Here’s the Dirty Turban roster for Saturday May 10.
All values are based on DraftKings pricing.
SP 1 – Nathan Eovaldi, $9,600: Jo-Fer came up small last night against the Padres. Eovaldi gets the Marlins back in the $wim of things tonight. Eovaldi is averaging 7 IP, 1 ER, and 6 K’s in his last four starts.
SP 2 – Dillon Gee, $8,400: There’s some $exy arms out there tonight and I’ll be rolling out another team that has Sonny Gray and Yordano Ventura, but for this lineup of hitters I need some cap relief and Gee is averaging 20+ FPTS over his last four starts.
C – Steve Clevenger, $2,600: Punt play. With Wieters battling an arm injury, Clevenger has been getting the $tarts behind the plate and faces a bad right-hander tonight. An Orioles stack would make a sneaky play.
1B – Jose Abreu, $4,900: A lot of options here at first base. I’m tempted to take Goldy tonight, but he burned me last night. Don’t burn me, Jo$e. *lights candle, prays to Frank Thomas bobblehead*
2B – Skip Schumaker, $2,400: Skippy has been my go-to punt play lately and it’s been paying off – he has 33 FPTS in his last three $tarts.
3B – Aramis Ramirez, $4,200: Not a lot of sexy action at the hot corner tonight, but A-Ram is 10-19 (.526) against C.C. $abathia in his career.
SS – Asdrubal Cabrera, $3,800: The A$$man has nine hits his last 13 ABs with two home runs and five runs scored. He faces left-hander Eric Bedard who is still in baseball for some reason.
OF 1 – Giancarlo Stanton, $5,800: The artist-formerly-know-as Mike Stanton cru$hes lefties no matter what their names are.
OF 2 – Carlos Gonzalez, $5,500: Cargo hitting in that bandbox? $ign me up whatever the price.
OF 3 – Moises Sierra, $2,200: Have to save somewhere to roster Giancarlo and Cargo, but $ierra is averaging 7+ FPTS in his last four starts.
Make sure to check the lineups, give a look at the weather and let’s hope we don’t end up aces and eights tonight.
