Happy Monday, my daily degenerates. It’s back to the grind and by grind I mean making green. It was a profitable weekend for your humble-but-nonetheless-handsome Guru as I cashed in five of six contests. Let’s roll those winnings over as your Guru wants a crazy winter of fun in the sun with the hotties in Cancun!
Just five games on the schedule tonight and I’ll look to save on pitching with this particular Cash Game roster so I can grab some of the hot hitters. We’ll see how the cheap pitching/big bat philosophy works tonight.
Here’s your dirty turbaned Guru’s lineup for Friday 5/19 contest. Good luck, cheers.
SP 1 – Jason Vargas, $7,200: With this lineup I’m going cheap on the arm$ (I will have another roster with Stephen Strasburg and Wily Peralta). Vargas is averaging 25+ FPTS over his last two starts and faces a White Sox team that has lost six of its last eight, leads the league in strikeouts and are missing their one big offensive threat – Jose Abreu.
SP 2 – Drew Smyly, $7,100: The Tigers are the best team in baseball and the pitching staff is second in the league in ERA. Our guy $myly is averaging 5+ Ks over his last four starts and the Indians have scored just eight runs over their last four games.
C – Wilson Ramos, $3,500: Ramo$ is coming off a four RBI game and is hitting cleanup tonight against a Mike “About to Spring a” Leake.
1B – Victor Martinez, $4,700: V-Mart has been on fire with four multi-hit games in his last eight, is second in the league with a .336 average and kills Indians pitching in his career at Progressive Field with a .375 average. The $tars are aligned.
2B – Johnny Giavotella, $2,500: Punt play alert. Johnny is hitting ninth, which isn’t a bad $pot, and his grandma makes a great chicken parm.
3B – Miguel Cabrera, $5,900: Miggy has 14 RBI over his last eight games, a nine-game hitting $treak and has three career homers in 17 ABs against Indians starter Corey “Going to Get Clubbed” Kluber.
SS – Ian Desmond, $3,700: Nothing I’m too high on at SS tonight, but De$ has homered in his last two games and has eight RBI in last six.
OF 1 – Mike Trout, $5,900: Trout ma$hes lefties with career .392 average and faces Dallas Keuchel who is, you guessed it, left-handed. Trout hits a homer tonight.
OF 2 – Ryan Braun, $5,600: Is tonight the night Braun break$ out? Let’s hope so. *lights candle, prays to Gorman Thomas bobblehead* Over the last 3 seasons, Braun is batting .360 with a 1.18 OPS against left-handed pitching.
OF 3 – Alex Gordon, $3,900: Gordon had two homer$ yesterday and 44 FPTS. If I get half that tonight I’m buying you all a drink.
Make sure to check the lineups, give a look at the weather and buy me a cider with your winnings
