What a night in our fake baseball world as some of the highest scores of the year were recorded. I scored over 190 points (my season high) in the DraftKings Moonshot and still finished 300th. Wow! Lonnie Chisenhall was a fantasy god last night as he went 5-for-5 with three homers. Double wow! The Chis totaled 62 FPTS. Triple wow! Fortunately, I had him on a few teams, but not enough as I broke even on the night thanks to some bad pitching picks. Let’s get back to banking tonight and, yes, we may have to dance with Lonnie Chisenhall and see if he can hit four.
We have 14 games on the slate tonight with aces on the mound, big bats to stack in Toronto, Detroit and Colorado and some weather concerns for Phildelphia-San Deigo, Chicago (NL)-Pittsburgh, Los Angeles (NL)-Cincinnati, and Detroit-Chicago (NL). . Managing the payroll and the Doppler radar should be a challenge.
Here’s your dirty turbaned Guru’s team for Tuesday 6/10. Good luck, cheers.
All values are based on DraftKings pricing.
SP 1 – Madison Bumgarner, $11,100: Adam Wainwright, Justin Verlander, Corey Kluber and Hisashi Iwakuma are the pri$ey plays tonight, but I’ll take the MadBum who has allowed just three hits in each of his last three starts.
SP 2 – Francisco Liriano, $7,700: The Cubs $trikeout. A lot. Oh, you want statistical stuff. The Cubs have a 24.4% strikeout rate against lefties. With all the fancy arms on the board Liriano could be overlooked.
C – Jose Molina, $1,900: Punt play alert. Grab the cheape$t catcher that’s playing. Want to spend up? Look to Evan Gattis or Jonathan Lucroy.
1B – Freddie Freeman, $4,900: Freeman came up kind of $mall last night, but I’m rolling with him and his .372 wOBA against righties again tonight. David Ortiz and, of course, Edwin Encarnacion and his 20 homers are also in play.
2B – Luis Sardinas, $2,100: Sardinas is averaging nearly 8 FPTS a game in his last four. If he gives me 8 tonight at this price I’ll be counting ca$h.
3B – Josh Harrison, $3,500: Harrison’s price is starting to climb as the world catches on that he’s pretty good at baseball – $ome power, $ome speed, hits at the top of the lineup. Everyone will be on Lonnie Chisenall after his performance last night and that’s a good reason to fade him vs. a leftie.
SS – Jose Reyes, $4,800: Like those Jay$ tonight and look for Reyes to be in the middle of all the fun. Reyes is 10/28 (.357) with a double, triple, a homer and five RBI against Twins starter Kevin Correia. Want a cheaper option? I think Elvis Andrews is in a good spot.
OF 1 – Jose Batista, $5,400: It’s pick on Correia night in Canada. $ure it’s a small sample, but Batista is 6/9 (.667) with a couple homers, five RBI and a 2.111 OPS against Correia. At this price, Giancarlo Stanton and Andrew McCutchen are also good targets.
OF 2 – Jason Heyward, $4,900: Like Freeman I played J-Hey last night and he came up small. It won’t happen two night$ in a row right? Heyward is 5/11 (.455) with a .571 OBP in his career against starter Juan Nicasio. Yoenis Cespedes and Melky Cabrera are both in good spots at a similar price.
OF 3 – Starling Marte, $3,700: Keep an eye on the weather, but Marte is my value play of the night as the price i$ low for a player that hits .343 with a .413 wOBA against lefties. Another player I really like at this price is Christian Yelich hitting in the Texas jet-stream.
Good luck and remember to always check daily lineups and weather conditions.
