Last night was a tough one, my daily degenerates. My stacks of Jays and A’s fell on their faces and it was only my Braves stack that kept us out of the red for the night. I blame Canada.
We have 13 games on the evening slate tonight at DraftKings with a few aces on the mound and teams to stack in Colorado, Baltimore and Detroit.
Here’s your dirty turbaned Guru’s team for Wednesday 6/11. Good luck, cheers.
All values are based on DraftKings pricing.
SP 1- Michael Wacha, $9,900: Darvish and Tanaka are the pricey plays tonight, but it’s tough to build a solid line up around them. On nights like that I turn to the second tier of arms in good spots. Wacha gets the struggling Rays that brought in some sort of Shaman to better the mojo – they haven’t won since. Jason Hammel is another arm at the same price I’ll be looking to tonight.
SP 2 – Hyun-jin Ryu, $7,900: Last time Ryu faced he Reds he went 7.1 IP, gave up three hits, three runs and struck out seven. Give me something close to that tonight and I’ll name my first child Hyun-jin Guru. Matt Cain is also in this cheap tier and looked good in his first game back from the DL.
C – Evan Gattis, $4,400: Gattis was enjoying the mile high air last night with three hits, four runs, a homer and two RBI. Do that again. El Oso Blanco has an 11-game hitting streak including four multi-hit games and a .500 OBP against lefties. I’m playing him everywhere tonight including my fantasy cricket team. Chris Iannetta is a cheaper option.
1B – Freddie Freeman, $4,900: This is a no-brainer right? Freeman at Coors following a game in which he homered against a rookie pitcher seems like a perfect storm. Watch him go 0-5. FTW. Miguel Cabrera is the pricey play, Chris Davis seems underpriced tonight.
2B – Ian Kinsler, $$4,800: I love to play Kinsler versus lefties. Guess what he gets tonight? An ambidextrous cross-dressing dwarf? Not funny, disembodied voice that sounds like my ex-girlfriend Brenda. Kinsler gets the southpaw John Danks who he has crushed – 13/34, three doubles, four homers and a .417 OBP. Less expensive options include Tommy La Stella and Yangervis Solarte.
3B – Chris Johnson, $3,600: CJ has six hits in two games at Coors and we are picking on Rockies rookie left-hander Tyler Matzek tonight. This is a great value play for a guy that has a .900+ OPS against lefties. Maybe Matzek will try and throw right-handed tonight. Want to spend up? Adrian Beltre is your man.
SS – Andrelton Simmons, $3,600: Yup, we got ourselves a stack of Braves. Simmons hit a grand slam last night and owns a 1.029 OPS against lefties this year. Of course you can also spend about 6k on Troy Tulowitzki if you want.
OF 1 – Torii Hunter, $3,900: Here are Torii’s numbers versus Danks: 15/46, .326 BA, .380 OBP with a couple doubles and three homers. If you’re looking to spend, Mike Trout and Jacoby Ellsbury are my top outfielders of the night.
OF 2 – B.J. Upton, $3,700: The final piece of our Braves stack is not the Upton brother I love – Justin left last night with an injury and is day-to-day. Mini-Up will have to work, but he is averaging 12 FPTS over his last five games.
OF 3 – Gregory Polanco, $3,200: Polanco made his MLB debut last night and went 1/5. This may be the last time we see him this cheap. Polanco has the perfect combo of power, speed and patience. At Triple-A he slashed .356/.415/.556 with seven homers and 15 steals in just 239 at-bats. Another cheaper option is Jonny Gomes.
Good luck and remember to always check daily lineups and weather conditions.
