Happy Friday the 13th, my daily degenerates. I’m not one for superstitions, but I’ve been lucky the last few days cashing in 11 of my last 15 contests. *rubs rabbit foot, throws salt over shoulder, gets killed by Jason Voorhes*
Let’s keep it rolling tonight and head into the weekend by building our Cancun bound bankroll. We have 15 games on the slate tonight at DraftKings with a few aces on the mound and teams to stack in Oakland, Detroit and Chicago.
Here’s your dirty turbaned Guru’s team for Friday 6/13. Good luck, cheers.
All values are based on DraftKings pricing.
SP 1 – Clayton Kershaw, $12,200: $imply the best arm in baseball and the best option in our fake baseball world. Kershaw will be in all my Cash Games tonight. Want numbers? In his last for starts Kershaw has 36 K’s in 26 innings.
SP 2 – Bartolo Colon, $7,300: Seems I get burned every time I roll Fartolo out there, but the matchup is too ta$ty to pass up. Colon pitches well at home – 2.30 ERA with a 1.02 WHIP, K/9 of 9.0 – and faces an impudent Padres offense.
C – John Jaso, $3,800: The A’s make for a great $tack attack tonight versus David Phelps. Jaso is always a target when facing a righty: 288 BA, .371 OBP and 6 home runs.
1B – Joey Votto, $3,800: A lot of options at first base tonight, but I’m looking for some value after $pending up on pitching. This may be the cheapest we get Votto the rest of the year as he’s coming off an injury. However, he’s averaging nearly 9 FPTS since coming back and faces Matt Garza who has allowed a .349 wOBA against lefties.
2B – Nick Punto, $2,700: You can’t $pell punt without Punto. Make sure he’s in the lineup.
3B – Kyle Seager, $3,800: Seattle left-handed bats could be a sneaky $tack tonight as lefties have hit .318 with a .403 OBP off Rangers batting practice pitcher Nick Tepesch. You know I’m a fan of the wOBA and Kyle “Don’t Call Me Bob” Seager and his .486 wOBA against righties will strut tonight.
SS – Alexi Ramirez, $3,700: Alexi is the cheapest shortstop on the board with a shot at doing something productive. Ramirez is a very streaky hitter and I’m looking to get ahead of the $treak here.
OF 1 – Brandon Moss, $4,700: Moss + right-handed pitching = $$$
OF 2 – Nick Markakis, $4,400: An Orioles $tack attack could go off tonight against Jays starter Drew Hutchinson. Markakis hits leadoff, has some power, and is averaging 9+ FPTS over his last four games.
OF 3 – Adam Eaton, $3,600: Jeremy Guthrie has given up a .346 wOBA to left-handed hitters this year and Eaton is a nice cheap play tonight along with the rest of White Sox lefties.
Good luck and remember to always check daily lineups and weather conditions.
