The Daily Degenerate Fantasy Baseball Picks 6/24

I don’t mean to just go on and on about my fake teams – that’s about as interesting as your girlfriend trying to tell you about The Bachelorette. However, your humble-but-nonetheless-handsome Guru is on fire. The turban is smokin’! Last night I cashed in all four contests and I’m not about to just start throwing money away.

Here’s your dirty turbaned Guru’s team for Tuesday 6/24. Good luck, cheers.

All values are based on DraftKings pricing.

SP 1 – Clayton Kershaw, $12,700: Warning: The price is high. The Royals have been hot and don’t strike out a lot. And there’s the risk of starting a guy coming off a no-hitter. But, Kersh is simply the best in the game. We gotta find a way to make it work. Less expensive options include Scott Kazmir and Homer Bailey.

SP 2 – Andrew Heaney, $6,500: Heaney looked good in his MLB debut and will face a Philly lineup that is 24th in the league in runs scored. Let’s hope this bargain bin arm pays off.

C – Caleb Joseph, $2,000: Punt play alert. Have to save somewhere to get Kershaw. Want to pay up? Grab the ‘spensive Molina in Yadier. Joseph did go 3-for-3 last night with a homer. Make sure he’s in the lineup though.

1B – Allen Craig, $4,400: Craig delivered an O-fer last night at Coors, but here’s hoping he’s adjusted to that mile high air. I smell a Cardinals stack. If you’re looking for a pricey play look to Miggy or Jose Abreu.

2B – Derek Deitrich, $3,200: I’m not impressed with the keystone position tonight unless you want to spend on Cano or Kinsler. Deitrich delivered 10 FPTS Monday and I’ll have him on all my teams tonight at this price.

3B – Evan Longoria, $4,300: Ok, Longo has not delivered like we hoped this year, but he’s been heating up lately with eight hits in his last 10 games with three doubles and two dongs.

SS – Jhonny Peralta, $3,700: We rolled with Jhonny last night he delivered nine FPTS. He faces a lefty tonight and he kills the lefties. I did mention this is Coors Field right?

OF 1 – Matt Holiday, $4,900: Matt Holiday + a left-handed pitcher ÷ Coors Field = $$$$. Don’t trust Matty at Coors look to the Rockie outfielders Dickerson and Blackmon.

OF 2 – Adam Jones, $4,600: Adam Jones is crushing lefties this year to the tune of a .500+ wOBA. This is your Guru’s pick for Dong of the Night.

OF 3 – J.D. Martinez, $3,600: We need a cheap outfielder to fill out the roster and a shot of J.D. is just the thing. Over his last five games, Martinez has eight hits and three home runs.

Make sure to check the lineups, give a look at the weather and buy me a Whiskey Sour with your winnings.
