Back in April the Turban told you about the bro faux Cubs mascot known as “Billy Cub” who got into some fisticuffs at a Chi-town watering hole.
Now it seems the powers that be over at Wrigley are taking legal action to get this dude and his costumed accomplices to stop beating up their fans and, more importantly, stop using the Cubs image to make green.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the Cubs filed a lawsuit against Weier and his furry buddies, saying they are violating the team’s trademarks by using the character to mislead people for profit. The Cubs are suing for damages, legal fees and all the cash the men have made.
Poor Billy Cub. Just a grown man in a bear suit trying to make a living. Keep your chin up, Billy. There’s always the Mid-West FurFest.
