Hey there my fantasy junkes, your humble-but-nonetheless-handsome Guru has been off a few days working on the tanlines, but I’m ready to dive back into the deep end of DFS pool and soak up some cash.

aacashpool

Here’s your dirty turbaned Guru’s team for Friday 6/13. Good luck, cheers.

All values are based on DraftKings pricing.

SP 1 – Jeff Samardzjia, $8,700: The $hark will look to feast on the K happy Marlins tonight. Samardzjia owns a 24.9% strikeout rate over his last eight games and is a cheaper option than Darvish, Tanaka or Cueto.

SP 2 – Roenis Elias, $8,000: Keep in mind this is an early game today 3:40 p.m. Am I crazy to consider Elias after he got himself blown up in his last start? Not crazy, but I did have a two martini lunch. However, Elias is at home and facing the worst hitting in team in baseball – the San Diego Padres. This will be my boom or bu$t roll of the dice. Don’t trust Elias? Ervin Santana and Tanner Roark could make nice cheap plays as well.

C – John Baker, $2,400: Punting catcher tonight for some bigger bats. If Baker gets a walk and a hit we’ll be in the $$$. If you want to pay up look to Jonathan Lucroy.

1B – Freddie Freeman, $4,900: First base is full of big bat$ tonight. Miggy, Goldy, Big Papi are all targets -but they’ll cost you. Freeman is 6/15 in his last three games with four extra base hits and his wOBA against right-handers is .375.

2B – Jason Kipnis, $4,400: The Vegas $harks have the CLE/LAA game as its biggest over of the night at 9. There should be runs scored in this one and Angels starter Matt Shoemaker struggles against lefties giving up a .378 wOBA to left-handed hitters.

3B – Carlos Santana, $4,000: I’m expecting a high scoring game in Cleveland and $antana has been hot with two homers in his last four games.

SS – Scooter Gennent, $3,500: The o/u for the Brewers tonight is 8 1/2 and I expect runs. $cooter year continues and I’ll keep playing him until the price goes up.

OF 1 – Ryan Braun, $5,600: The Brew Crew $mashes lefties. They face Wade Miley tonight who may attempt to throw right-handed. Braun has just 2 hits in 5 AB’s off Miley, but they were both homers. He’ll have three off him after tonight.

OF 2 – Adam Jones, $4,500: Is there a hotter bat in ba$eball right now? Jones’ wOBA (I do love the wOBA) is over .500 against left-handed pitching.

OF 3 – Khris Davis, $4,000: Love those Brewer$ bats at Chase Field AKA Coors Light. The other Khris Davis and his .492 wOBA against southpaws will be on all my teams at this price.

Good luck and remember to always check daily lineups and weather conditions.

The Daily Degenerate Fantasy Baseball Picks 4/25

Some days it’s all unicorns and rainbows. Other days it’s all dog sh*t and speeding tickets. Yesterday was the latter for your humble-but-nonetheless-handsome Guru. For the first time this year we got shut out of the winnings and won the golden sombrero as we went 0-4. Our Toronto stack went cold and we paid the price. I blame Rob Ford. Crack is a hellava drug.

aaford

Fortunately we could withstand the damage to our bankroll as we have tripled our initial investment. Here’s DFS tip #643 for you: Never wager more than 10% of your bank on any given night. You may not win huge, but you won’t lose huge either and be left trying to chase losses.

Let’s get back to the winning ways tonight. Here’s the Dirty Turban roster we’re rolling with tonight 4/25.

All values are based on DraftKings pricing.

SP 1 – Stephen Strasburg, $11,400: It’s Stra$$. The best arm on the board. Watch out for rain, however.

SP 2 – Jesse Chavez, $11,000: We’re paying for pitching tonight. Chavez is a strikeout pitcher. The Astros strikeout a lot. It’s $cience.

C – Drew Butera, $1,900: Punt play alert. Maybe he gets a hit. Check the lineup fir$t.

1B – Miguel Cabrera, $5,300: There’s a lot to love at first base tonight. I love Miggy mo$t.

2B – Scooter Gennentt, $3,600: DraftKings prices have caught up with the Scooter. However, we’ll pay this for a guy hitting second in a game in which the Brewers will score. A lot. A Milwaukee $tack would be a nice play tonight.

3B – Pablo Sandoval, $3,600: The Panda is in a grizzly-sized slump – he has just two hits in a week. A stat that we always use when measuring matchups is weighted on-base average (wOBA). Sandoval’s wOBA vs.right-handers  is .359 with 44 homers. Panda break$ out tonight.

SS – Chris Owings, $2,600: Speaking of wOBA, Owings’ is .366 against righties. The pri$e is right. Come on down!

OF 1 – Jayson Werth, $3,700: Werth’s OPS over the last three years is over .900 against left-handers. He get$ a leftie tonight.

OF 2 – Austin Jackson, $3,500: The Tigers will $core tonight and A-Jax will be right in the middle of it.

OF 3 – Matt Joyce, $3,400: Great value deal here as Joyce cru$hes left-handed pitching. 48 of his 56 career homers have been off lefties. This may be the one player we have on all our teams tonight.

As always check the lineups, check weather and don’t construct your team after five hard ciders.

Did you play the Dirty Turban roster yesterday? Hope so as we cashed in all the 50/50’s we entered with 125.10 points. We expected a bigger return, but King Felix turned jester on us and the reverse-lock went into effect. Felix ended up with just 14.95 FPTS. That hurt. However, our picks of Julian Teheran, Nick Swisher, Scooter Gennent and Nolan Arenado were solid and Charlie Blackmon went off in Colorado with two homers and 30 FPTS. If you played a Rockies stack you were on a Rocky Mountain high.

aahigh

Tonight we have 15 games on the slate. Weather may be a concern in New York and Boston so we may have to stay clear of Yankees – Red Sox and Cards – Mets. With concerns of rain (not to mention the prices) we’re going to rule out Tanaka and Wainwright and turn our greedy eyes towards Coors Field once again.

Here’s the Dirty Turban roster we’re rolling with today 4/22.

All values are based on DraftKings pricing.

SP 1 – David Price, $10,200: Since we faded Tanaka and Wainwright let’s see if the Price is right against the Twins in Tampa tonight. Price struggled in his last start, but look for a rebound tonight as the Twinkies are fourth in the AL in K’s.

SP 2 – Hyun-Jin Ryu, $9,400: Ryu is averaging nearly 30 FPTS in his last two starts, is pitching at home and the Phillies are struggling.

C – Buster Posey, $5,100: Here comes our Giants stack tonight. Rockies starter Franklin Morales should not be a starter. The Giants will be glad he still is.

1B – James Loney, $3,600: Kind of a punt play here, but Loney’s been on a tear with 10 hits in his last six games.

2B – Scooter Gennent, $2,600: Gennent is our go-to infielder on the cheap. We’ve been winning with him and let’s ride the Scooter again.

3B – Pablo Sandoval, $3,800: Much like Miguel Cabrera’s fantasy slump can’t last forever neither can Pablo’s. Bold prediction: Big Panda hits two bombs tonight.

SS – Clint Barnes, $2,200: Total punt here. **UPDATE** Barnes is not in tonight’s lineup. We’ll look to go Jonathan Herrera, Willie Bloomquist or Dean Anna. Let’s hope one of them is playing tonight.

OF 1 – Hunter Pence, $4,500: Expecting big things from the Giants tonight and Pence should be right in the middle of it. Our whipping boy Franklin Morales gives up 1.23 HR/9 and has a 6.59 FIP against right-handers. That explains the rest of our outfield.

OF 2 – Mike Morse, $4,000: Mike Morse big. Mike Morse hit ball. He should run into one tonight.

OF 3 – Angel Pagan, $4,500: Pagan should be in the Giants leadoff spot and should pile up some points in front of Pence, Posey and the Panda.

Good luck and remember to always check daily lineups and weather conditions.

The Daily Degenerate Fantasy Baseball Picks 4/21

Happy Patriots Day, my daily degenerates. Let’s do something patriotic to kick off our week like watch baseball, drink beer and invade a small country. USA NUMBER 1!

AAUSA

The other all-American thing we can do is win a few Andrew Jacksons. Not a bad weekend as we went 6/9 in our money games. Yesterday’s picks put up 125.5 total points and easily cashed out across the 50/50’s. Let’s continue the winning as we get one step closer to that winter in Cancun.

The Dirty Turban will be rolling with three different rosters today. Your humble-but-nonetheless-handsome Guru uses a couple different philosophies when playing DFS. 1) A team that features the days best pitcher and a stack of players from a few team that’ll score a lot (hopefully). 2) The days two best pitchers and hitters with the best matchups (good strategy in 50/50 plays).

Today’s team features King Felix and a stack of Rockies who may score 10 runs tonight.

All values are based on DraftKings pricing.

SP 1 – Felix Hernandez, SEA vs. HOU:, $12,500: It’s a pricey play and while Yu Darvish is also pitching today, King Felix will dominate these Astros. Is a no-hitter po$$ible?

SP 2 – Julio Teheran, ATL vs. MIA, $8,100: We’re looking for a good arm at a good price and this $eems low for a pitcher coming off a 35-point performance a week ago.

C – Drew Butera, LAD vs. PHI. $1,900: Total punt play here. Buster Posey is the top catcher today, but he’s pri$ed out of our limit.

1B – Justin Morneau, COL vs. SF, $4,900: The first piece of our Rockies $tack. Morneau gets a bad right-hander in Vogelsong, is hitting at home and is averaging 25+ FPTS over his last three games.

2B – Scooter Gennent, MIL vs. SD, $2,600: The $cooter has been our go-to punt play at second base and as long as he stays cheap we’ll keep rolling with him.

3B – Nolan Arenado, COL vs. SF, $3,900: Good chance for a homer tonight as we’re hoping for a Rocky Mountain high ($core) in Colorado.

SS – Clint Barnes, PIT vs. CIN, $2,200: Yeah, it’s a punt play, but Barnes is 6/17 (.353) against Reds $tarter Mike Leake. If you’re going to punt a position at least find a matchup to exploit.

OF 1 – Carlos Gonzalez, COL vs. SF, $5,500: Make sure to check the lineup and make sure Cargo is in there. He left yesterday’s game with some knee pain. However, we expect him to play. We also expect three homers. Ok, we won’t get greedy. How ’bout$ two?

OF 2 – Charlie Blackmon, COL vs. SF, $4,500: Charlie will be hitting leadoff, is averaging 12+ FPTS over his last three and will have plenty of chances to score tonight as he rounds out our Rockie $tack.

OF 3 – Nick Swisher, CLE vs. KC, $3,800: Liking the Indians bats today vs. Jeremy Guthrie and could see doing another team with a stack from Cleveland. But why get greedy? $wish is 12/33 for 2 homers off Guthrie and the price is right.

Good luck and remember to always check daily lineups and weather conditions.

The Daily Degenerate Fantasy Baseball Picks 4/20

Happy Easter, our dear daily degenerates. Ready to shove some cash in your Easter basket? It’s been a good week for us on DraftKings and we looked to double up last night. However, our pitching – namely Matt “Good For Nuthin'” Garza pooped his pants and things looked lost…that is until Ryan Braun poked his second homer of the night and we cashed all five of our 50/50’s! KA-CHING! Whatever HGH/Cadbury egg concoction Braun is swilling let’s hope he keeps it up.

aaeaster

We have 16 games on the slate this Easter Sunday as we look to continue our winning ways. There are a number of quality pitching options that come at a hefty price including Stephen Strasburg. Taking a look at hitters expect folks to stack the Rockies/Phillies game, but it’ll cost you. Today we are looking for quality and quantity and that should keep us in the money.

Here’s the Dirty Turban roster we’re rolling with today 4/20 *cough cough*

All values are based on DraftKings pricing.

SP 1 – Yordana Ventura, MIN at KC, $10,000: Spending big here, but not as much $trasburg will cost you. The Royal rookie is averaging 25+ FPTS in his first two starts this year and gets a Twinkies team that is fourth in the AL in strikeouts.

SP 2 – Homer Bailey, CIN at CHC, $8,500: We’re relying on our friends over at Razzball here as they project Bailey as the fifth best start of the day. Don’t $teer us wrong.

C – Mike Napoli, BAL at BOS, $4,500: Nap isn’t a catcher anymore, but don’t tell DraftKings that. The bearded Bunyan has two homer$ in four at-bats vs. Orioles starter Jimenez.

1B – Justin Morneau, PHI at COL, $4,700: There will be a lot of Rockies/Phillies stacks today as Vega$ has the o/u at 10. Morneau had a homer last night and has a good chance for another one today.

2B – Scooter Gennent, MIL at PIT, $2,600: $cooter is our go-to punt play and why not, he’s averaging nearly six points a game in his last four.

3B – Eric Sogard, HOU at OAK, $3,100: Kinda, maybe, sorta a punt but $ogard’s hiiting .571 against Lastros started Brad “Beautiful Plumage” Peacock.

SS – Cliff Pennington, ARI at LAD, $2,900: Another spot we look to $ave and it helps that Cliff kills Josh “The Gerbil” Beckett with a .500 average.

OF 1 – Jacoby Ellsbury, NYY at TB, $4,900: Ells is facing a lefty, but his splits aren’t that much different. The chance to hit, steal, score runs and maybe send one deep against a guy names Cesar making his first start of the year is just too good to pa$$ up.

OF 2 – Melky Cabrera, TOR at CLE, $4,900: Melky is off to a hot $tart averaging nearly 9 1/2 FPTS a game and is 4/8 with a homer off Indians starter Carrasco.

OF 3 – Jonny Gomes, BAL at BOS, $3,700: Gomes is playing in the only night game and we’ll cross our fingers he’s in the lineup. No reason he shouldn’t be as Gomes has two career homers off Ubaldo. Actually, all the $ox kill Ubaldo and could make a good $tack.

Good luck and remember to always check daily lineups and weather conditions.
