(VIDEO) WWE’s Touching Tribute to Connor ‘The Crusher’ Michalek

aacancer

I’ll admit I haven’t been a big wrestling fan since the days of Rowdy Rowdy Piper and Superfly Snuka, but damn if this didn’t make the turban a little moist as WWE superstar Daniel Bryan made cancer patient Connor “The Crusher” Michalek’s dream come true. Unfortunately, Connor passed away in April; however, not before Bryan and several other wrestlers made his last moments the greatest moments. Have the tissues ready.

aawarrior1Authorities in Phoenix say former pro wrestler The Ultimate Warrior died of cardiovascular disease. Apparently, Warrior’s death was “natural”  and no drugs or alcohol were directly involved.

The 54-year-old  Warrior collapsed last week while walking with his wife to their car at a Scottsdale hotel and was later pronounced dead.

The WWE announced that Monday Night Raw will reflect on Warrior’s career tonight and show important moments of his wrestling life including key matches, his Hall of Fame induction and his final appearance in the ring last week on “Raw.”

(VIDEO) R.I.P. Ultimate Warrior Dead at 54

After dispelling rumors for years that he was dead, The Ultimate Warrior is now, sadly, ultimately dead.

The WWE released a statement Tuesday night:

WWE is shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the passing of one of the most iconic WWE Superstars ever, The Ultimate Warrior. Warrior began his WWE career in 1987 and quickly went on to become one of the biggest stars in WWE history. Warrior became WWE Champion at WrestleMania VI, defeating Hulk Hogan in an epic encounter. We are grateful that just days ago, Warrior had the opportunity to take his rightful place in the WWE Hall of Fame and was also able to appear at WrestleMania 30 and Monday Night Raw to address his legions of fans. WWE sends its sincere condolences to Warrior’s family, friends and fans. Warrior was 54 and is survived by his wife Dana and his two daughters.

It’s bizarre news especially following the rumors that he was already dead that appeared across the Internet last week. The Ultimate Warrior was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame over the weekend and appeared on Monday Night Raw just 24 hours before.

Rest in peace, Ultimate one while I sell try to sell this on eBay. Too soon?
